30-minute consultation

This 30-minute consultation is to determine if you’re a good candidate for microblading. You will come to the studio, we’ll take a look at your brows and discuss your desired results. I will map your brows, creating a uniform shape and determine which combination of pigments I would use for your procedure.

Microblading Initial Session

All clients start with a 30-minute consultation which will be booked before your first appointment. The microblading appointment will follow that initial appointment and this is when the procedure is performed. During this appointment we’ll walk through desired outcome, brow mapping and the microblading itself. The appointment will be completed within two hours with the actual microblading taking 30 – 45 minutes.

Microblading Follow-up Session

This appointment is the 6-8 week follow-up appointment to your initial session. During this appointment we will take a look at how the brows are healing and discuss where to adjust.

Frequently Asked Questions

Microblading is a manual cosmetic tattooing technique that provides the look of natural brow hair. Microblading is a semi-permanent brow tattoo performed with a small handheld tool, using a feather stroke technique to produce the appearance of individual hairs, creating fuller eyebrows.

What is microblading?

Microblading is ideal for someone who’s experienced hair loss in the brow area as a result of over tweezing or general aging and desires to have fuller, natural brows at all times of the day. Microblading is designed to enhance the appearance of your natural brows and bring balance to the face. During the complimentary consultation I will work with you to make sure that you’re a good candidate for the procedure and that we can achieve your desired results.

Who is a good candidate for microblading?

Microblading is a softer/more subtle cosmetic tattoo than some of older methods. Body tattoos use ink while cosmetic tattoo procedures involve pigments. These pigments are designed to gently fade over time. Fading is desired as it allows the artist to make changes to color and shape over the years as client’s natural coloration and facial changes occur.

Is microblading permanent? Am I getting an eyebrow tattoo?

We do all that we can to ensure that the process is as comfortable as possible. Before the Microblading begins, a topical anesthetic is applied to the area to minimize discomfort, followed by a liquid anesthetic during the procedure. Some clients may feel a slight discomfort, but it’s relatively pain free for most.

Will my service hurt?

Upon booking your service, I will send an email with a short checklist of actions to take prior to your procedure. The list will include things to avoid such as Botox or injectables, alcohol use the night before and potential medications. Our communications will also include things to keep in consideration like photos of brows you like or photos of yourself with your brows done up the way you like them.

What should I do to prepare for my service?

Absolutely! If only we knew that how we treated our brows when we were younger would affect us later on, we may have made different choices. Luckily, microblading is the preferred choice for many who over-tweezed and have experienced hair loss as a result.

I have some eyebrow hair but I was over-tweezed when I was younger, am I a good candidate?

The treatment is considered semi-permanent and will fade over time. Touch-ups are recommended every 1-2 years to maintain shape, color, and detail. Retention depends on a number of factors including:
- Skin type (oily skin types fade faster)
- Pigment color used (lighter colors fade faster)
- Sun exposure (can cause fading and discoloration of the pigment over time)
- Use of daily anti-aging products e.g.- (Tretinoin (Retin-A) & Alpha Hydroxy acids). These products increase your cell turnover rate and will shorten the life of your cosmetic tattoo.

How long will my new brows last?

Appointments take about two hours on average. Much of the time is spent measuring and drawing on a symmetrical set of brows and agreeing on your perfect shape and color. The actual procedure itself takes about 30 min to an hour. The touch-up appointment will take about an hour. During your appointment I will consult with you the entire time ensuring we are in agreement regarding shape and color.

What should I expect during my appointment?

The Process

Permanent cosmetics, when done correctly will do just this, enhance your already gorgeous features.

When you’re considering doing anything to your face it’s really important to do your research to make sure you feel comfortable with the provider and the process. Your face will be with you your entire life so anything you do to enhance your looks should be a thoughtful decision.

When I meet with a new client, I'm taking in everything from their:

  • facial shape
  • existing brow structure
  • skin tone
  • hair color
  • skin type
  • lifestyle and how they fill in their brows today

This is all in addition to what they tell me about what they like about their existing brows, what they wish were different and any imagery of brows they love (#browgoals). Brows are personal and no two brows are exactly alike, even the two on our own faces – think sisters, not twins.

After the consultation where I listen and learn about my client in as much depth and detail as possible, it’s brow mapping time.

Brow mapping is just as important as the actually microblading and in some cases, takes even more time than the microblading itself. Brow mapping is when we physically draw in the shape of the brows, the outline that will be followed for the procedure. The client will review and approve the brow shape before moving on to the next step.

Step one: trust in your provider

Step two: mapping the brow

Brow mapping is an art and is based on symmetry of the face as well as an esthetic eye that can identify the correct shape for each individual face.

Step three: the procedure

Once the brow shape is approved and agreed upon, we apply a topical numbing ointment that sits on the skin for 20 minutes to penetrate the skin. This ointment will make the microblading appointment more comfortable. After twenty minutes, we can begin the procedure. There are two passes that will take place on each brow with extra numbing applied in between for added comfort. The dye used is customized to each client based on skin tone and natural hair color.

It is my job to make sure you’re 100% comfortable with the vision for your brows, the shape, the tint color and the comfort of the procedure.

The entire process will take place in 2 hours or less with constant feedback between myself and the client. When you leave my studio you will feel heard, you will love your brows and you will know how to take care of them for the next six weeks and beyond.
